2019 was a breakthrough year for Vintage & Morelli, as he not only dropped his acclaimed artist album ("Hymn To The Night"), but also headlined our Silk Music Showcase #500 Tour across six US cities this past summer. V&M's longtime friend and muse Arielle Maren proved to be a major contributor to "Hymn To The Night," with five official collaborations on the album.
One of their standout tracks together, "Lonely Shore," now receives the remix treatment from celebrated veteran duo Blood Groove & Kikis, as well as the legendary RNX (aka Robert Nickson), who co-produced the original version of the track.

We begin with an extraordinarily stirring take of "Lonely Shore" by Latvian heavyweights Blood Groove & Kikis, whose recent predilection for organic house grooves is evident once again. An extended intro features the rise and fall of gentle waves, the soothing percussive hits of toms, and the gorgeous piano motif from the original version, ultimately making way for Arielle's effortlessly beautiful vocal performance. The euphonious soundscape is only augmented by the addition of rapturous pads and arpeggios, while the dulcet caress of Arielle's voice seems to tacitly promise that we will all find love in the end. "Can you hear my call in the wind?" Yes, we can, and it has profoundly touched our souls.

One of the three original composers of "Lonely Shore," RNX offers his own new interpretation, centering on a hypnotic electric bass groove. The more uptempo feel of this mix, in comparison to Blood Groove & Kikis' more chilled and house-y take, proves to be quite exhilarating, especially in the song's latter half, when the groove intensifies to climactic effect.

Vintage & Morelli, Arielle Maren, and RNX's original version of "Lonely Shore" caps off the release. A pumping bassline groove and a signature Vintage & Morelli house-influenced rhythmic swing give the tune a veritable dancefloor sensibility, while Arielle's vocals and the trio's timeless melodic themes elicit myriad sun-kissed anthemic moments. The aching and yearning qualities of the song are offset by its crescendoing soundscape, which ultimately empowers the listener to set sail from his own 'lonely shore' and embrace love once again.

In the final analysis, all three versions of "Lonely Shore" offer unique arrangements that fall somewhere along the progressive electronic music spectrum, but the radiant melodies and ineffably affecting vocals of Arielle Maren shine through them all.

Just found the sound iv'e been searching for so long. I wondered when I would listen to ambient tones and melody that combines this perfect symmetric sound. True art. A whole new world for many curious listeners out there. Melodic house genre has been my life since I listened to Contact by Glen Morrison in 2007 - I am now 28, and this A.M.R. album gave me the mindset of another 10+ years. mixmix1234
